May 7, 2024 -- The Rotary Club of the Capital City was pleased to hear from member Tom Schaffler about an ongoing project sponsored by Rotary District 7710 to build homes in the Dominican Republic. Tom has participated in the project for several years.
The project is joint between six Rotary clubs, Cary, Cary Macgregor, Cary Page, Clayton, Wake Forest, and Central Johnson, that in 2023 donated $12,000 matched with $9,500 by District 7710 for a total of $21,500 to build three homes in Los Cocos, Dominican Republic. Locally, the project is sponsored by the Santiago Monumental Rotary Club.
